Lamborghini Revuelto Crowned evo Car of the Year 2025

Press Release

The Lamborghini Revuelto has been named evo Car of the Year 2025, emerging at the top of one of the most demanding and respected group tests in the automotive world. Scoring 97.7 points, the Revuelto outperformed 12 of the finest performance cars of its generation, securing a decisive and unanimous victory.

The result marks two historic firsts for the evo Car of the Year award. The Revuelto becomes the first hybrid-powered car ever to claim the title, and the first Lamborghini to win outright, despite previous near-misses by models such as the Gallardo, Huracán, and Diablo VT 6.0. In doing so, Lamborghini has redefined expectations for electrification at the very pinnacle of performance.

As the flagship successor to the Aventador, the Revuelto carries the responsibility of redefining Lamborghini’s most important nameplate. It does so with authority. At its heart lies a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, paired with an advanced plug-in hybrid system to deliver a combined 1,015 horsepower. This configuration proves that electrification need not dilute emotional engagement. Instead, it enhances the car’s breadth of ability, allowing the Revuelto to deliver extreme performance while retaining the visceral character that defines Lamborghini’s V12 lineage.

The Revuelto’s success is the culmination of a technological trajectory that began in earnest with the Huracán STO in 2021, introducing advanced aerodynamics and patented forged composite materials. In the Revuelto, that evolution reaches full maturity. The car combines dramatic design and a theatrical powertrain with a level of dynamic precision, usability, and coherence that judges described as making it “a Lamborghini you don’t have to make excuses for” and “a definitive 21st-century supercar.”

Visually, the Revuelto has the presence of a modern icon, similar to the sense of occasion once reserved for legends such as the Countach and Aventador. That sense of drama is fully matched by its driving experience. Whether deploying all of its four-figure power output or operating at more modest speeds, the Revuelto remains engaging, accessible, and confidence-inspiring — qualities that supercars have not always managed to combine.

The evo Car of the Year test is deliberately unforgiving. Over the course of a single week, the participating cars collectively covered 15,000 miles, across conditions that ranged from cold, fog-filled early mornings to punishing afternoon heat. The test included relentless low-speed manoeuvring, repeated cold starts, extended high-load driving, and constant changes in drivers and driving styles. It is a true measure not only of outright performance, but of durability, adaptability, and real-world usability.

That the Revuelto emerged victorious under these conditions speaks volumes. Its win was not based on spectacle alone, but on consistency, composure, and depth of ability. Intimidating in appearance yet surprisingly approachable on the road, the Revuelto demonstrates that Lamborghini’s flagship V12 is no longer just an object of awe, but a car whose immense capabilities can be fully accessed and enjoyed.

With the Revuelto, Lamborghini has set a new benchmark. It proves that the future of the supercar can be electrified — without losing its soul
