Lexus unveils 20-car fleet for International Series tourney
Some of the biggest names in the world of golf are in the country for an event with a magnitude never seen – and felt – before.
Four major champions, Dustin Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen, Patrick Reed and Charles Schwartzel, plus a horde of marquee names have arrived for the International Series Philippines presented by Bingo Plus at Sta. Elena Golf Club.
And all these stars will be travelling to and fro the world-class venue in style, courtesy of official vehicle sponsor Lexus.
Lexus Philippines is providing a full fleet of 20 of its latest model vehicles for the convenience of the name players in keeping with its golf-centric brand marketing.
Johnson, Ooshtuizen and Schwartzel will all be riding the hybrid and ICE models of the LS500 Premier, the flagship luxury sedan of Lexus that combines performance and advanced technology in a spacious package.
There will be lots of the other models like the RZ450e, the NX350h and the RX500h reserved for big guns like Kevin Na, Marc Leishman and Dean Burmester.
Filipino ace Miguel Tabuena, meanwhile, is expected to be driving his LM, the luxury passenger vehicle with his big family expected to be tagging along to root for him all week.
It will be another memorable outing for Tabuena in front of a home audience with a lot of money at stake as a prize pot of $2 million (about P110 million) is on offer.
He will be playing with Oosthuizen and Johnson in the first two rounds for a blockbuster pairing expected to draw a large gallery as bigtime golf finally arrives in local shores.
The last time an event of this scale was held here was in 1995 when the Johnnie Walker Classic was held at the Palmer course of the Orchard Golf and Country Club.
Aside from providing vehicles for use of the name players, Lexus is also offering an NX350 executive for the first player to score a hole-in-one on the 17th hole.
International Series Philippines presented by BingoPlus is one of nine elevated events on the Asian Tour schedule this season that provide players from around the world a pathway into LIV Golf through the season-long Rankings race.
The tournament will pair elite competition with a vibrant entertainment experience, featuring headline concerts, premium hospitality, live music, gourmet dining, and immersive fan activities throughout the week.
