Mitsubishi officially unveils all-new Outlander PHEV
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially unveiled the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric SUV at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort Quezon City.
The brand’s inaugural PHEV in the local market was first introduced several years ago and was even presented in various motor shows, including being previewed at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show held last June.
The electrified sport-ute is even Japan’s bestselling PHEV in the SUV segment.
“This is a true Mitsubishi SUV,” said MMPC president and CEO Ritsu Imaeda during the unveiling ceremony in Quezon City.
“It is built not only for efficient everyday driving, but also to conquer the world of rugged, unpredictable terrains with confidence,” he added.
According to Imaeda, the Outlander PHEV brings the company’s track record in SUVs to the electrified market.
Mitsubishi has always been renowned for producing durable, rugged, and practical SUVs, heavily praised for value, off-road heritage, and strong four-wheel-drive systems.
Models like the Outlander PHEV, for one, have built a strong global reputation as practical, bestselling plug-in hybrid electric choices.
In Japan, Mitsubishi Motors sold 7,794 units of the Outlander PHEV last year, successfully defending its top-spot position it claimed in 2024.
With this newest Outlander PHEV here in the country, MMPC eyes to emulate the same feat.
The model aspires to be MMPC’s flagship model and represents the culmination of Mitsubishi Motors’ expertise in SUV engineering, bringing together its renowned Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system and advanced PHEV technology to deliver “The Power of Both Worlds.”
To further highlight this, this Outlander is powered by a 2.4L gasoline engine with MIVEC, paired with front and rear electric motors, which seamlessly switches between electric and gasoline power to deliver exceptional performance while maximizing efficiency. Together, the system produces a combined system output of 304hp maximum power and 450 N-m of torque, enabling responsive and smooth acceleration, and a combined driving range of almost 1,000 kilometers, with 100 kilometers of pure electric range.
The driver can intelligently switch multiple EV drive modes: Normal, Save, Charge, and EV Priority in a cinch.
Moreover, the vehicle supports AC Type 2 charging protocol, making it compatible with the local EV charging infrastructure.

Legend on wheels
What’s more is that this Outlander carries the same engineering as those
Mitsubishi used during its 12 overall victories at the Paris-Dakar Rally.
The renowned Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)—a fully integrated system that brings together the twin-motor 4WD, active yaw control (AYC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), active stability control (ASC), and traction control system (TCS).
S-AWC continuously optimizes traction, stability, and handling— giving drivers greater confidence and control across various terrains.
Complementing the technology are seven selectable drive modes, grouped according to driver preference and road conditions. These are Normal, Eco, Power, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud modes.
Other safety features Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing include forward collision mitigation, blind spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beam, and driver attention alert.
Embodying heritage
This Outlander PHEV is designed to embody its heritage while showcasing a modern and sophisticated presence that reflects the marque’s evolving design language.
Character profile exudes confidence with its wide and muscular stance, well-chiseled form, complemented by the signature familiar Dynamic Shield concept.
This bold exterior continues with its sleek full-LED lighting fixtures, capped by striking 20-inch machine-finished and black two-tone alloy wheels. Even noise vibration and harshness levels are at optimal due to its remarkable craftsmanship.
Inside, it offers a refined interior, thoughtfully crafted to bring premium luxury, comfort, and advanced technology to the table. Premium light gray leather-trimmed seats and meticulously finished soft-touch materials create a sophisticated cabin atmosphere, a vibe that reflects the vehicle’s flagship status.
Creature comforts include a spacious interior, along with a panoramic sunroof, allowing natural light to fill the cabin and creating an open, lounge-like ambience.
It also features a 12.3-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio (SDA) with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired to an immersive eight-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system, along with a smart rear view mirror, heads-up display and many others.
The vehicle comes in three premium exterior colors: White Diamond, Black Diamond, and Red Diamond.
The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is priced at P 2,848,000.
Yet, those who opt to avail of it early, from August 20 to September 30, 2026, can enjoy a special introductory price of P2,749,000.
