More new cars to launch at MIAS at World Trade Center and SMX on April 4 to 7
The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) opens its doors on April 4 to 7, 2024, from 10a.m. to 9p.m. This year, MIAS will be at two world-class venues: the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTC) and SMX Convention Center for a combined, expansive space of 41,000 square meters. Within the WTC and SMX will be more than 200 new cars, including scores of models being launched at the show. After the first group of cars revealed in a previous article, here are more vehicles that will make their debut:
Great Wall Motors Philippines will launch the Ora 03 electric vehicle (EV). The Ora 03 hatchback features a retro-futuristic look, melding classic round LED headlamps, integrated rear light bar, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Ora 03 promises spirited driving with a maximum 169hp and 250Nm torque. This EV can go up to 420km on a full charge. The Ora 03 is a five-seater with an interior trimmed in leather. The Ora 03 cabin styling matches its exterior: the modern retro cockpit features a seamless dashboard with 10.25-inch touch screen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger. Ora 03 is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, collision warning systems, and blind spot detection.
GAC Motor Philippines, under distributor Astara Philippines, will highlight its all-new GAC M6 Pro, a seven-seater MPV. The M6 Pro features an exterior inspired by a “wind wing form,” and runs on 18-inch wheels. Inside, the three rows of seats in 2-2-3 configuration can be adjusted for comfortable seating or more cargo. M6 Pro is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 174hp and 270Nm, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd.), launching under distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), will be showcasing its lineup of five new models at MIAS : the B40 Ragnar, B80 Wagon, B60 Beaumont (diesel hybrid), BAIC X55 Verve and the X7 Grandeza. The B40 Ragnar, B80 Wagon, and B60 Beaumont (diesel hybrid) are true body-on-frame, 4-wheel drive SUVs with diesel and gasoline-powered turbocharged powerplants with displacements ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 liters, producing torque figures ranging from 380Nm to 420Nm. The BAIC X55 Verve and the X7 Grandeza are both gasoline-powered and monocoque-bodied crossovers, powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engines producing 305 Nm of torque. The brand will feature these new cars at its BAIC Colonnade booth, and customers can drive them at the UAAGI Performance Center, a unified test drive area for the company’s brands. The Performance Center includes a 4×4 track and a mini-gymkhana course.
The latest Subaru models will be put through their paces by British precision driver Russ Swift, holder of three Guinness World Records — parallel parking in the tightest space, J turn in the tightest space, and the fastest donuts. The Russ Swift stunt show will run three times a day from April 4 to 7, with access near the Subaru booth at the World Trade Center.
MIAS’ 2024 lineup features a stellar roster of brands including sponsors BPI, Petron and Shell.
