New “MVP-caliber” MPV trio arrives in PH
GAC Philippines has officially unveiled its three new multipurpose vehicles (MPVs) in the local market during a grand ceremony held at the Rizal Grand Ballroom in Makati Shangri-La.
These are the all-new models of the GAC GN6, GAC E8 HEV, and GAC GN8 PHEV Executive.
For the uninitiated, GAC is known worldwide as “MPV experts”, surpassing 30 million cumulative vehicles produced and sold, 4.7 million of these coming from its MPVs. Built on state-of-the-art Lighthouse Factories, GAC’s strict joint-venture quality control standards was developed through 20 years of technical collaboration with global industry leaders, and consecutive top awards for vehicle residual value.
Now, this newest trio of MPVs has been delivered to close to 900,000 new users globally. These MPVs offer versatile mobility solutions for executive transit, premium passenger travel and dynamic personal lifestyles, backed by 10 years of proven research and development.
“The official launch of the GAC MPV Family marks an important milestone in the continued growth of GAC Philippines,” said Calvin Cheng, general manager of GAC Philippines.
“With three distinct models, we are bringing Filipino customers a complete MPV lineup that can serve their changing needs, from flexible daily transit to premium travel and executive mobility,” he added.

Entry-level MPV
First introducing the trio is the all-new GAC GN6, catered to drivers and passengers that strive the life of everyday grind, without sacrificing comfort, space and convenience.
Powering it is the a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, producing 174 hp and 270 N-m of torque.
With a 2,810 mm wheelbase and overall dimensions of 4,792 mm long, 1,837 mm wide, and 1,750 mm tall, this MPV is generous in interior space yet shifty. Its space can even reach a total of 1,100 liters, when third-row seats fold flat into the floor, which is equivalent to 14 stacked 20-inch suitcases.
Creature comforts include: a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone automatic climate control with rear controls.
Safety-wise, it features six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree high-definition panoramic camera, and advanced driver assistance systems, such as: adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
This all-new GAC GN6 GX is priced at P1,298,000.
Electrified premium comfort
Meanwhile, the GAC E8 HEV is designed for Filipinos who yearn for a more premium MPV experience, “combining an efficient hybrid powertrain with first-class passenger comfort and flexible cabin space.”
Its hybrid system pairs a 2.0-liter hybrid-dedicated engine, producing 138 hp and 180 N-m of torque, with an electric motor generating 180 hp and 300 N-m. Operated by a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, the system delivers a combined driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers from its 60-liter fuel tank, with a WLTC fuel consumption rating of 5.58 liters per 100 kilometers.

with a 2,930-mm wheelbase, along with a low 375-mm step-in height, making entry and exit easier.
Inside, it offers up to 18 seating configurations.Second-row occupants benefit from One-Touch Zero Gravity seats with power leg rests, ventilation, and massage functions.
The third-row Magic Storage seats l, on the other hand, can fold flat into the floor or be configured in Tea Break Mode, expanding cargo capacity by as much as 1,917 liters.
Other features include acoustic laminated glass, dual sunroofs, power-sliding doors, wireless phone charging, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, and ADiGO intelligent driving technologies such as Traffic Jam Assist and Integrated Cruise Assist.

Measuring 5,247 mm long and riding on a 3,070 mm wheelbase, the GN8 PHEV Executive combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle engine with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor. The system produces a combined 373 hp and 630 N-m of torque.
Its 25.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery provides an electric driving range of up to 120 kilometers based on NEDC testing and a total combined range of up to 1,038 kilometers. DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes.
Inside, the GN8 PHEV Executive offers a cabin designed to function as a private luxury lounge or mobile boardroom. Creature comforts include the Zero Breeze Air Conditioning system, which uses more than 1,600 micro-vents, hidden six-directional seat vibration dampers providing better comfort and second-row captain’s seats with four-way power leg rests, fold-out tray tables, and massage functions. The vehicle also has soundproof glass for the first and second rows, a 16-speaker audio system, a streaming-video rearview mirror, tri-zone automatic climate control, PM2.5 air filtration, a fragrance system, a starlight panoramic roof, and dual power-sliding doors.
