Nissan Ariya makes first PH appearance at 2024 MIAS
Nissan Philippines provided a glimpse of what the future has in store for electrified mobility as it unveils the Nissan Ariya at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, in line with the event’s theme of “Bridging the Future.”
Nissan has further developed the technology it had pioneered in the LEAF to introduce a new chapter for Nissan electric vehicles with the Ariya. The Nissan Ariya is the perfect embodiment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, showcasing the best of what Nissan currently has to offer in terms of innovative technology. It follows Nissan’s Timeless Japanese Futurism design philosophy, conveying the vehicle’s Japanese DNA in a simple yet powerfully modern way. Built on a dedicated EV platform, designers were able to take a new approach to design, setting aside the limitations of an internal combustion engine platform.
Inside, the Ariya takes advantage of its EV architecture to make its cabin one of the most spacious in its class. It provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for driver and passengers with its luxurious and lounge-like atmosphere, enhanced by its Zero Gravity seats and flat open floor. The minimalist dashboard features Nissan’s Integrated Display Interface, which makes use of dual 12.3-inch displays to clearly display driving information and control vehicle functions, while primary climate functions are integrated into the wooden center dash that spans the width of the interior.
Under the hood, the Ariya features Nissan’s e-4ORCE AWD powertrain, delivering the exhilarating performance the brand is known for in an all-electric package. The system uses two electric motors to power all four wheels with a maximum output of 394 Ps and 600 Nm. Its 87 kWh battery allows for a range of over 500 kilometers and can be charged from 30% to 80% in as fast as 30 minutes. The battery’s placement low in the chassis means that the Ariya also benefits from improved handling with its low center of gravity.
The Ariya is packed with Nissan’s latest technologies, including the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility driver assist features headlined by Nissan Safety Shield and ProPILOT 2.0, ensuring a tech-advanced drive with high levels of confidence and safety on the road.
Apart from the Nissan Ariya, Nissan’s full vehicle lineup was also present for visitors to check out, including he brand’s performance models – the All-New Z and the New GT-R. A driving simulator was also available for visitors to virtually experience the thrill of Nissan’s fully-electric Formula E race car.
Outside of the main show floor, Nissan continues its showcase through an Outdoor Display Area, centered around the Nissan Urvan GX camper concept. The display demonstrates the versatility and reliability of Nissan’s vehicles, a legacy that was carried over from the Patrol which has long set the benchmark for all-terrain SUVs. The Urvan GX shares its features and dimensions with the Urvan Premium, adopting its larger body size minus the rear seats. This opens it to a wide array of customization depending on customer preferences, whether for personal or business use.
Nissan Philippines adds that “the Nissan Outdoor Display showcases the flexibility and capabilities of Nissan’s vehicle lineup. From the fully-electric LEAF to the Urvan GX camper concept, customers can find a vehicle that is fit for their personal needs and preferences.
