Nissan is now in the “Richest City of Calabarzon”

Calamba, Laguna from what we usually know is known for the famed Mount Makiling, our national hero’s own hometown, “Rizal Shrine”, and the countless spring resorts located within the area.

It’s located just 50 kilometers down south of the metro and is included in the country’s most populous region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).

The city, according to the 2024 consensus, has a population of more than 575,000 residents, making it the second most populous city in the province.

Now, what is not known to many is that Calamba is actually the most prosperous local government unit in Calabarzon with a total income of over P19B billion and counting. It has mainly credited its wealth from manufacturing and economic plants, tourism, agriculture and services.

Recently, Synergyauto Ventures Corporation (SVC), together with Nissan Philippines, officially opened its newest dealership in the City of Calamba.

“Laguna is one of the fastest-growing economic areas in Southern Luzon. The area has a very dynamic mix of residential communities, businesses, and industrial zones,” said SVC president Doroteo “Tey” Sornet.

“We see strong potential for the Nissan brand here. Calamba, in particular, is strategically located and serves as a gateway to many parts of Laguna and nearby provinces.”

“For us in the SVC Group, expanding here is a natural step in bringing Nissan closer to more customers in this region,” he added.

With a 2,100-sqm-floor area, the newly-opened dealership features an expansive eight-car display showroom and 18 service bays, consisting of six mechanical, eight for body and paint and four diagnostic work bays. Behind the facility are about 80 to 100 skilled individuals, working to give customers the best experience possible.

The full 3S dealership showcases vehicle sales, service and spare parts operations, along with space for vehicle preparation, carwash, accessories center and ample customer parking on the ground floor.

Meanwhile, the second floor houses the company’s regional center with executive offices, conference and training rooms.

Laguna governor’s profound words

As the province welcomes the Japanese carmaker to its fold, Laguna Governor Marisol Aragones said in a statement that their city of Calamba is constantly in motion and is eager to embrace the future.

“Every new enterprise that establishes its roots in the city does more than just boost local revenue. It uplifts our people by providing the dignity of decent jobs. The purpose of a car dealership, like where we are now, is not just to put cars on the road but to also generate meaningful employment,” she continued.

According to her, local talents provide a vital engine to the city’s ongoing economic progress.

“In an era where mobility shapes our access to opportunity, Nissan Global’s recognition for innovation excites, establishing sustainable driving that perfectly complements our local aspirations. Their principles reflect our values as a society by embracing a smarter transport system, like cleaner technologies. Through this, we pave the way to a more inclusive community that deeply respects the environment we share,” Aragones added.

“On behalf of the City of Calamba, I extend my deepest gratitude to the dealership and the dedicated team behind Nissan Calamba. Choosing to build here is not merely a business decision, it is the profound investment in our community and our shared future,” she stated.

“Together, we will continue to drive Calamba forward, navigating toward a horizon that is not only prosperous but truly humane. Welcome again to Calamba, the city of history, progress and endless possibilities!”
