Performance + Hybrid
Audi Philippines introduced the all-new Audi Q5 during a special “Coffee and Cars” gathering hosted by PGA Cars recently at the Audi showroom in Bonifacio Global City.
The event brought together select members of the media, VIP clients, business leaders, celebrities, and sportscar enthusiasts, and with an appropriately curated audience for what is arguably one of Audi’s most important volume nameplates. Set against the relaxed backdrop of coffee, an all-day breakfast buffet, conversation, and a lineup of premium vehicles, the unveiling felt less like a traditional launch and more like an insider’s first look at the next evolution of the Q5.
Now in its third generation, the Audi Q5 arrives in the Philippines with a clear focus on refinement and efficiency, underpinned by a new hybrid-electric powertrain. Built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion architecture, the SUV takes a step forward not just in performance, but in overall driving sophistication.
At its core is a longitudinally mounted 2.0-liter TFSI engine paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The combustion engine produces 204 horsepower, while an integrated powertrain generator contributes an additional 24 horsepower and 230 Nm. Combined output stands at 240 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque—figures that strike a balance between everyday usability and responsive performance.
More importantly for its urban dwelling owners, the hybrid system allows the Q5 to run in pure electric mode at low speeds and during certain cruising situations. This translates to improved efficiency, smoother operation in traffic, and a notably quieter cabin experience. Audi also claims a total driving range of up to 918 kilometers on a full tank and charge.

As a hybrid electric vehicle, the Q5 also qualifies for number coding exemption in Metro Manila, turning it to an increasingly relevant advantage for daily driving. “We have been receiving a much significant increase in inquiries for electrified vehicles for our brands since the Middle East crisis began.” said Audi PH Executive Director Christopher Chan. This increasing shift towards electrified vehicles seems to resonate across most segments in the automotive market.
Visually, the new Q5 adopts a cleaner and more sculpted design language. Its silhouette remains unmistakably Audi, but with more pronounced character lines and a stronger shoulder that visually connects the front and rear lighting elements.
Up front, LED headlights with automatic high beam control frame Audi’s now flatter, 2D-look rings, while the rear design has been simplified for a more modern, uncluttered appearance. Depending on the variant, wheel sizes range from 19 to 21 inches, complemented by aluminum roof rails and a panoramic sunroof.
The S line variant showcased at the event stood out with its sportier detailing—full-paint S line bumpers, 20-inch Audi Sport wheels in a black metallic finish, and subtle performance-inspired accents that give the SUV a more dynamic stance.
Step inside, and the Q5’s biggest leap forward becomes immediately apparent. Audi’s “Digital Stage” defines the cabin, anchored by an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch MMI touch display that seamlessly integrates infotainment, navigation, and vehicle controls.
Material quality remains a strong point, with leather upholstery, aluminum inlays, and ambient LED lighting creating a premium yet understated environment. The S line variant further enhances the experience with a flat-top-and-bottom sport steering wheel, power-adjustable seats with memory, and a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System with 16 speakers.
Practicality hasn’t been overlooked. The rear seats can slide and recline, while multiple storage compartments and a power-operated tailgate make the Q5 well-suited for both daily errands and longer trips.
Audi has equipped the Q5 with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, front emergency brake assist, and a full array of parking and surround-view camera systems. Additional features like side assist, exit warning, and rear cross-traffic assist further enhance confidence behind the wheel.
Comfort is equally prioritized, with a three-zone automatic climate control system that can continue operating even when the combustion engine is switched off—a subtle but meaningful benefit in stop-and-go traffic.
In many ways, the setting at BGC reflected the vehicle itself: refined, contemporary, and designed for real-world use. The all-new Audi Q5 doesn’t attempt to radically redefine the segment, but instead sharpens what has always made it a strong contender—now with electrification seamlessly integrated into the equation.
With Premium, S line, and SQ5 variants now open for reservation, Audi Philippines is clearly positioning the Q5 as a cornerstone of its local lineup, one that continues to evolve with the demands of modern mobility while staying true to its core strengths.
