What electrified vehicle will Mitsubishi showcase at PIMS 2026?
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is one of 17 brands that will exhibit at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) this June 4 to 7, 2026 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
The Japanese automaker said in a press statement that the theme of its booth is “Premium Adventure” to “reflect the brand’s commitment to empowering customers to embrace every journey with confidence, excitement and unwavering spirit of exploration.”
“MMPC aims to give visitors an immersive brand experience filled with innovation, entertainment and next-generation mobility solutions,” the company said. “The booth experience is designed to capture Mitsubishi Motors’ adventurous DNA while showcasing how the brand continues to evolve for the future of mobility.”
But the biggest news is that MMPC will unveil an all-new electrified model at the show. We take a look at the possible contenders that the country’s second-largest carmaker could use to take on the onslaught of electric vehicles from China.
Outlander PHEV
One big clue is from the teaser photo provided by MMPC, which shows the silhouette of a crossover that sports the brand’s “Dynamic Shield” front grill.
It looks very similar to the latest-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Long before EVIDA, charging stations and fuel prices above P70 a liter, MMPC was among the first automakers to offer plug-in-hybrid technology.
In other markets, the Outlander PHEV is powered by a 2.4-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve, inline-4 gasoline engine mated to a 22.7-kWh, lithium-ion battery pack and dual electric motors – combined output is 248 horsepower and 450 Newton-meters of torque through all four wheels. Mitsubishi Motors estimates a maximum battery range of 103 kilometers on a single full charge.
The Outlander PHEV is also available in other markets with ventilated and massaging front seats, a third-row seat, a Yamaha surround-sound system, Super All-Wheel Control and a full active-safety suite with adaptive cruise control.
Xpander HEV
Besides being the Philippines’ best-selling seven-seat multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) in 2023, 2024 and 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross were also the top-selling cars in the country last year.
Filipinos (including drivers for ride-sharing apps) appreciate their robust suspension, three-row practicality and car-like driving feel. And soon, they may appreciate a new aspect of these MPVs – power and fuel economy.
In February 2024, Mitsubishi introduced the Xpander HEV that packs a 1.6-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-4 gasoline engine mated to a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor. Combined output is 114 horsepower and a monumental 255 Newton-meters of torque, which are coursed through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Features available in other markets include seven driving modes, namely Normal, Wet, Gravel, Tarmac, Mud, EV Priority and Charge, as well as Mitsubishi’s renowned Active Yaw Control (AYC) for more secure handling.
Xforce HEV
As with Xpander HEV, the Xforce HEV gets the same 1.6-liter hybrid-electric powertrain and CVT for a combined output of 114 horsepower and 255 Newton-meters of torque.
Beside the seven driving modes and AYC, this electrified, subcompact crossover is also available in other markets with a Yamaha surround-sound system and the Mitsubishi e:MOTION active-safety suite that includes a Multi Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
MMPC said those who visit its booth at PIMS 2026 can expect an exciting display of the brand’s adventure-ready vehicles, offering guests a closer look at Mitsubishi Motors’ signature design and advanced features.
In addition, the automaker said it has prepared daily interactive programs, engaging activities and special performances from well-known performers and influencers. More details on MMPC’s activities and event schedule will be announced soon through MMPC’s official social media pages.
