The Mitsubishi Xpander remains to be one of the most-coveted nameplates under Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation. In fact, in 2023, the popular MPV sold over 24,000 units in the local market. Aside from its reliable and fun ride, the Xpander takes pride in its aesthetics as it exudes a no-nonsense yet youthful and dynamic vibe.

In recent years, MMPC has introduced the two-toned Sunrise Orange for its Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 1.5 AT 2024 model, and like usual, it continues to captivate fans of people carriers everywhere.

For starters, the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is the spruced up version of its regular model. It’s taller and more muscular. In short, it is a Mitsubishi Xpander on anabolic steroids.

Since last year, the Cross has been donning a more robust profile because of its increased height, thicker bumpers and black trim design cues.

The brightly colored people carrier composes itself and carries the brand well, as it highlights its iconic Dynamic Shield Design language, paired with a spirited layout of its front and rear bumper, wheel arches, LED head and fog lamps and daytime running lights.

Its no-nonsense functionalities continue inside. Steering wheel is wrapped with leather while the dash is laden with a faux-leather material suited with faux stitching.

Space-wise, the vehicle provides ample space up to the second row, while third seats are built for kids and smaller adults.

For entertainment, it features a seven-inch Touchscreen Smart Phone Link Display Audio (SDA) with six speakers, two tweeters, paired with a GPS Navigation system.

Being a fun and smooth ride, it’s equipped with a new car-like chassis with coil springs integrated on all its four wheels. Ride height is increased–too–with its 225-mm ground clearance.

Under its hood is a frugal 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine with MIVEC technology, paired with a four-speed automatic tranny. It produces 105 hp and 141 N-m of torque as power is then sent to the front wheels.

Safety-wise, it’s been rated a four-star ASEAN NCAP rating. Thanks to its two airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, plus traction control and stability control systems, not to mention ISOFIX tethers that can accommodate child seats.

With its more dynamic and vibrant version of the Xpander, it indeed does not only cater to young families, but to the yuppies and even undergrads, as well.

With how MMPC positions and promotes the vehicle, while, at the same time, excites the market, for sure, the Xpander will keep its track record and continue to become a hit in years to come.
