3 Chinese caught violating BI visa policy arrested

Three Chinese nationals were arrested in Davao City last Friday for illegally working in the country, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday.

According to the BI, Xu Yonglian, 38; Lin Jinxing, 42; and Cai Xiji, 44, were apprehended in a commercial building. Xu was found to have been using a Filipino name in his business dealings despite holding a work visa requested by a company in Binondo, Manila.

Cai also held a work visa from a Binondo-based firm while Lin was in the country on a tourist visa.

The BI said the arrest was conducted by the BI Intelligence division in Mindanao and BI regional intelligence unit 11, in coordination with the Philippine Army and Air Force, Sta. Ana Police Station, Davao City Police Office and other law enforcement forces.
