Six ranking police officials were included in the latest reorganization of the Philippine National Police. In a Dec. 19 order that took effect on Friday, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil designated Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang as the new chief of the Anti-Cybercrime Group.

Yang assumed the position vacated by Maj. Gen. Ronnie Cariaga, who was reassigned to the Area Police Command in Northern Luzon after being relieved over a raid on a Philippine offshore gaming operator hub in Manila. Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, deputy director of Special Action Force, will be the acting SPD chief, replacing Yang.

The SPD covers the cities of Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa, as well as the municipality of Pateros.
