8 dead in QC apartment fire

Eight people were killed while one was injured after a fire broke out in a three-story apartment at Barangay San Isidro in Galas, Quezon City, on early Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated, but it left an estimated damage of P3.6 million.
According to the BFP report, the fire reached the first alarm at 2:02 a.m. and was fully extinguished by 2:48 a.m.
Of the fatalities, three were minors aged 2, 12 and 15.
A television report said that some of the residents of the apartment survived by climbing out through the roof. The only exit was through the front door.
