956 PUVs get special permits for holiday travel

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said on Thursday that it has granted 956 special permits to public utility vehicles (PUVs) which will be valid from Dec. 20 to Jan. 10 next year.
LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said they received a total of 988 applications for PUV drivers and operators, adding that the issuance of special permits was “crucial” in maintaining an efficient public transport system for commuters during the holiday rush.
