Air France resumes flights to Manila in December
Direct flights between the Philippines and France will resume by the first weekend of December this year via Air France, 20 years after its last flight to Manila. The announcement from the French embassy in the Philippines was welcomed by Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco who said the direct Manila-Paris flights would ease travel to and provide the much needed connectivity to Europe.
The Philippines is the only major Southeast Asian country that does not have direct flights to Paris, the French embassy earlier said. It added that the move “marks a significant step” in strengthening, not only tourism, but bilateral relations between the two countries. There will be three direct flights weekly between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport although Air France aims to establish a long-term presence in Manila.
