Australian with 6 minors nabbed in Cebu

CEBU CITY—The police arrested an Australian who was found in the company of six minors in one of the northern towns of Cebu province.

The police did not identify the Australian, but said he may be charged with violations of Republic Act No. 7610, or the Anti-Child Abuse law, that prohibits the transportation of minors by individuals who are not related to them by blood.

The police said the minors, aged 15 to 17, claimed they voluntarily accompanied the foreigner, but the police said they were still verifying information that the Australian had a prior record of child exploitation.
