CA confirms 2 Comelec officials, 84 AFP officers

The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed on Tuesday the ad interim appointments of two Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioners and 84 senior officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The nominations of poll commissioners Maria Norina Tangaro-Casingal and Noli Rafol Pipo faced opposition, including a formal challenge from Duterte Youth party list Chair Ronald Cardema.
Tangaro-Casingal, director of the Comelec Law Department since 2016, was nominated to replace Socorro Inting, who retired after completing her seven-year term.
Pipo, who has been serving at the Comelec for 32 years, fills the seat vacated by Marlon Casquejo.
