Chinese, Pinoy nabbed for sexual exploitation
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation have arrested a Chinese national and a Filipino in two separate entrapment operations for sexually exploiting women.
In a statement on Tuesday, the NBI said that agents of its Naga District Office arrested Marjohn Lanera Boragay, also known as “Baks” or “Bella,” at an apartelle in Naga, Camarines Sur, on Jan. 14 after placing him under surveillance. They caught Boragay in the act of trading 10 women, two of them minors, for sexual exploitation.
The NBI said that the two minors were turned over to the Naga City Social Welfare Development office, while Boragay was presented for inquest proceedings for violating Republic Act No. 10364, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.
On the same day, NBI agents conducted another entrapment operation in Pasay City, which led to the arrest of a Chinese national identified as Bing Abing for the same offense.
The NBI said in a separate statement that its Organized and Transnational Crimes Division had received information about a Telegram channel featuring nude photos of women used as “advertisements,” and customers could avail of their services at a hotel at rates ranging from P6,500 to P18,000.
