In the Dec. 5 issue, the headline of the story on Page A4—“PH urges governments to adopt deep-sea mining policies”—may not have fully captured the reported statement of Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga, head of the Philippine delegation to the COP28 climate talks in Dubai. The headline should have read: “PH urges governments to set safeguards vs deep-sea mining activities.”
