DBM okays last batch of 20K new teaching posts

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said on Monday that it has approved all 20,000 new teaching positions for this school year, as requested by the Department of Education.
In a statement, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said that she has approved the last batch, which was for 4,000 new positions for Teacher 1 with a salary grade of 11 or equivalent to a monthly pay of P27,000.
“This is on top of the initial 16,000 positions under batch 1 that we approved in May this year,” she added.
Of the 4,000 new posts for School Year 2025 to 2026, 1,658 are allocated for kindergarten and elementary, 391 for junior high school and 1,951 for senior high school.
