Another Filipino has been confirmed dead in the devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake that hit Myanmar last month.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Thursday that the body of the second victim—one of the four reported missing Filipinos—was recovered from the Sky Villa building in Malanday, the quake’s epicenter.
“The family of the deceased Filipino has been informed.
They have requested [the] media to respect their privacy in this very difficult time,” the DFA said in a statement.
“We continue to hope for the best for the remaining two Filipinos still unaccounted for in Mandalay, Myanmar,” it added.
On Wednesday, the DFA reported the first Filipino fatality whom it also did not identify.
