ORGANIC ENCOUNTER

/or-ga-nic en-kAWn-ter/

Noun

An unintentional or unplanned way of meeting someone, which can be in the most random places and usually noted as a romantic interaction

WHAT IS “ORGANIC ENCOUNTER”

ORIGIN

You know those moments in movies where the main character is in the library reaching for the book she wanted to read, and then suddenly, there’s someone reaching for the book for her.

Or when the female lead is in a hurry, and she suddenly bumps into a stranger with her things all scattered on the floor, and then that person eventually helps her pick it all up.

These scenarios are all organic encounters as they happened naturally—no plans, no intentions, none at all.

Organic encounter is having its moment online lately, as people nowadays crave more for something that defines the nature of being human. A kind of interaction that does not require forced arrangements or the use of dating apps.
