The term “stunner” was popularized by the hip-hop culture. It pertains to an extremely attractive person, or someone who “stuns” or impresses other people with their success, fame or money.

In the Philippine context, young stunnas are often seen wearing oversized, layered clothing and are frequently labeled as this generation’s “Jejemon,” a subculture that arose in the early 2010s identified by the individuals’ ways of texting and fashion. Young stunnas, like Jejemons, have constructed their own distinct language.
