DILG: No foul play in La Salle student’s death

Authorities found no evidence of foul play in the death of a 25-year-old law student from De La Salle University-Bonifacio Global City campus, who was found dead in Naic, Cavite, on Saturday, nearly two weeks after he was reported missing.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla said on Monday that Anthony Granada had no gunshot wounds or injuries based on initial findings. His personal belongings were also intact.

Granada was last seen boarding a Grab car on C-5 Road on June 8.

CCTV footage later showed him walking alone past 9 p.m. on Lopez Jaena Bridge in Naic, police said.

On June 21, Naic police received information that a body, later identified by the victim’s family as Granada, was found at a vacant lot in Barangay Sapa.

“To put everyone at ease, we can conclusively say that this is not hazing, no signs of foul play, from the time he left Taguig until his body was found, he had no one with him until the last part of his journey,” Remulla said.
