Dizon vows to finish Aganan flyover in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY—Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon on Monday vowed to finally complete the long-stalled Aganan flyover in Pavia, Iloilo, assuring the public that the project will be finished by year-end after years of delays and mounting concerns over its safety and cost.

Inspecting the unfinished structure, Dizon expressed frustration over delays since its planned 2022 completion, saying similar problems plague major roads nationwide, including the Maharlika Highway.

He said construction is expected to resume by mid-February and finish before Christmas 2026, following President Marcos’ directive to complete the project.

An additional P229 million has been allocated for rectification works on top of the flyover’s original P802 million cost, bringing total expenses to over P1 billion.
