The 38 Filipino crew members of cruise ship MV Hondius have tested negative for the hantavirus and remain in “a positive mood,” Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac told reporters on Sunday.
Of the 38 Filipinos, 21 are under quarantine in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, while the rest are in Rotterdam.
They will be under the monitoring of Dutch health authorities until June 18 in compliance with the 42-day monitoring period for hantavirus.
Cacdac also thanked the Dutch government for aiding the Filipinos.
The World Health Organization said that as of May 13, there were 11 cases of hantavirus linked to the MV Hondius, which led to 3 deaths.
