The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has brought home a total of 4,241 Filipinos from the Middle East with the arrival of the seventh batch of repatriates on Friday.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the latest batch of 344 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families arrived from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on board a government-chartered flight.

Cacdac reported a total of 4,241 repatriates brought home by the Philippine government with the arrival of a fresh batch of 344 returning Filipinos from the UAE.

“We will continue to do this as long as there are Filipinos, especially OFWs, who wish to come home to our beloved country,” Cacdac said in an interview with Radio Television Malacañang.

The repatriates traveled on board flight TVR 7737, which departed Abu Dhabi International Airport and landed at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Cacdac said more repatriation flights are expected in the coming days, adding that nearly 1,000 OFWs have received repatriation assistance from the government over the Holy Week.

The OFWs are also set to receive assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa), according to its chief Patricia Yvonne Caunan.

Owwa assistance

The aid will include postrepatriation assistance, such as helping Filipinos reach their hometowns and reintegrate with life in the Philippines.
