DOTr: E-driver’s license can sub for actual license

Mary Joy Salcedo

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has reminded motorists they can use their electronic or e-driver’s license as an alternative for their physical license.

Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said on Tuesday that under Department Order No. 2023-015, Land Transportation Office enforcement officers and their deputized agents “are enjoined to accept an e-driver’s license as a valid form of authorization and identification to operate a motor vehicle.”

The e-license can be accessed through the Land Transportation Management System portal.
