Flower prices expected to increase as ‘Undas’ nears

Less than a week before “Undas,” prices of flowers at the Dangwa Market in the City of Manila remain at P450 to P1,500 per bundle.

But vendors expect the flower prices to rise further by Wednesday.

As of Monday, a bundle of local white roses costs P450, while Korean roses are priced at P650 per bundle, according to a vendor interviewed by the Inquirer.

Meanwhile, a bundle of medium-sized anthuriums sells for P850, while orchids are priced at P1,500. Radus is also available for P450 per bundle.

For those looking for ready-made arrangements, prices range from P550 to P1,700, depending on the size of the arrangement and the type of flowers used.

Some vendors said flower prices are expected to increase starting Wednesday, Oct. 28, through Sunday, Nov. 1, as demand rises ahead of the yearly commemoration of the dead.
