Gasoline prices seen rising for 6th week, diesel for 5th

Another fuel price hike looms next week, with industry sources seeing increases of as much as P1.20 a liter.

In an advisory, Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas said the per-liter price of gasoline may go up by P1 to P1.20. He also expects diesel prices to jump by 60 centavos to 80 centavos a liter.

Estimates from the Department of Energy also showed upward adjustments, with gasoline possibly posting the biggest hike of more or less 70 centavos per liter.

Diesel and kerosene may also increase by more or less 35 centavos and 65 centavos, respectively.

If implemented on Sept. 23, it will mark the sixth consecutive week of gasoline price hikes, and the fifth for diesel.
