Ps 17:1bcd, 6-7, 8b, 15

Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.

1st Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:12-20

Gospel: Luke 8:1-3

Jesus walked through towns and countryside, preaching and giving the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve followed him, and also some women, who had been healed of evil spirits and diseases: Mary called Magdalene, who had been freed of seven demons; Joanna, wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward; Suzanna; and others, who provided for them out of their own funds.

Reflection:

Share God’s love.

Jesus was accompanied in his preaching by his disciples and those he forgave and healed. We cannot give ourselves entirely to God and others while we live in sin. When Jesus called his disciples, he did not just ask them to leave their families and possessions. The Lord urged them to turn away from their sinful ways. By having a new life, we gain a new perspective and energy. We give ourselves to the Lord and others through faithful service. May Jesus forgive and heal us and be part of his mission. Let us continue to share God’s love.
