Iloilo City suspends classes for Dinagyang festivities

ILOILO CITY—In-person classes at all levels in this city are suspended today to ease traffic, ensure public safety and allow students and school personnel to participate in Dinagyang Festival activities.

The same class suspension is also declared on Monday to allow revelers to rest.

Mayor Raisa Treñas’ Executive Order No. 007, Series of 2026 issued on Wednesday, covers both public and private schools.

The city government anticipated heavy traffic, major road closures and the use of selected schools as billeting areas for contingents participating in the “Dinagyang Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan” and “Dinagyang Ilomination” competitions.
