Inquirer.net still top most visited PH news site in February
Inquirer.net retained its position as the country’s most visited online news site in January and February 2026, according to web analytics firm Similarweb.
In 2025, Inquirer.net topped the list of the country’s most visited local news websites.
Beyond the increase in total visits, Inquirer.net also maintained its standing across global, country and industry benchmarks, with direct and organic search remaining its strongest acquisition channels.
These visits came from people going directly to the site or finding its stories through search engines.
Major drivers
Data from Similarweb showed Inquirer.net recording 7.01 million visits to lead with a 30 percent traffic share in February 2026.
GMA Network came in second with 5.274 million visits, ABS-CBN with 4.422 million, PhilStar Online with 3.796 million, and Rappler with 2.828 million.
The website’s coverage of the International Criminal Court pretrial hearing on the crimes against humanity case of former President Rodrigo Duterte, the performances of Alex Eala in the Dubai Tennis Championships and Indian Wells, and developments surrounding the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte were among the major drivers of traffic in February.
In January, Inquirer.net also ranked as the most visited news website with 6.62 million visits, posting a leading traffic share of 27 percent.
This was followed by GMA Network with 5.65 million, ABS-CBN with 4.805 million, PhilStar Online with 4.519 million, and Rappler with 2.789 million.
2025 rankings
These results are consistent with the previous year’s rankings, where Inquirer.net led local online news.
Data from Similarweb showed that from January to December 2025, the site recorded a total of 105.1 million visits across its platforms, maintaining a clear lead over its competitors.
