June 24 also a holiday in San Juan City

President Marcos has declared June 24 a holiday in San Juan City in Metro Manila in celebration of the feast day of its patron saint, St. John the Baptist.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of San Juan be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” Mr. Marcos said in Proclamation No. 929 dated June 13 and published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday evening.
San Juan residents traditionally mark the holiday through the Wattah! Wattah! Festival in which they douse each other with water.
The practice, however, has led to fights breaking out, prompting the city council in 2018 to pass an ordinance penalizing those who forcibly open vehicles to throw water at passengers.
The President earlier declared June 24 a holiday in the City of Manila, which will mark its 454th founding anniversary on the same day.
