Lacson relieved he’s no longer blue ribbon panel chair

Sen. Panfilo Lacson has expressed “double relief” after he was replaced as head of the Senate blue ribbon committee, a body tasked to look into allegations of government irregularities.

Sen. Pia Cayetano took over a week after her brother, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, was elected Senate president in a sudden leadership shakeup. She held the same post in 2024, becoming the first-ever female chair of the committee.

“Double relief. I feel relieved that I am now relieved of my duties as the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman,” Lacson said in a post on his X account.
