LPA inside PAR may develop into storm
July 1, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday it was monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) with a “medium chance” of developing into a storm after a day or two.
The LPA was located 920 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of Monday afternoon.
“[In] the next 24 to 48 hours, it has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but beyond this time frame, the chances will start to increase,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said.
