LTO suspends abusive taxi driver

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Friday suspended the license of a motorcycle taxi driver who was caught in another incident of overcharging at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said the driver was suspended for 90 days, pending the ongoing investigation over the incident that went viral on social media.

According to the initial investigation, the motorcycle taxi driver charged his passenger P2,000 from Naia Terminal 3 in Pasay City to Cainta, Rizal.

The show cause order signed by LTO-Intelligence and Investigation Division chief Renante Melitante asked the driver to explain why he should not be held liable for overcharging.
