Malacañang says President not bothered by drop in approval ratings

Palace press officer Claire Castro said on Tuesday that President Marcos remains unfazed by recent survey results showing a decline in his approval ratings if these were due to his order to investigate those involved in anomalous flood control projects.

“The President will not be bothered by the drop in ratings because what he did was the right decision even if it may not be a popular decision, as many people and politicians will be affected,” Castro added.

Based on a Pulse Asia survey released on Tuesday, the approval and trust ratings of President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte remained mostly unchanged between September and December.

The survey conducted from Dec. 12 to Dec. 15, however, showed that Mr. Marcos received a higher disapproval rating of 48 percent compared to his 34 percent approval rating.

In September, he scored a 44 percent disapproval rate and 33 percent approval rate.
