March 21 declared a nonworking holiday in Calapan City

Avatar

President Marcos has signed a law designating March 21 as a special nonworking holiday in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, in celebration of its cityhood anniversary.

Mr. Marcos signed Republic Act No. 12158 on April 11, with a copy published on the Official Gazette’s website on Monday evening.

The new law repealed RA 8986 signed by President Joseph Estrada in 2001, which previously declared March 21 as a special working holiday in the city.

The capital of Oriental Mindoro since 1679, Calapan was originally founded as a town.
