Marcos again skips mention of sis Imee in Alyansa sortie

Has President Marcos dropped his elder sister from the administration’s senatorial slate?
A day after making no mention of Sen. Imee Marcos during a campaign rally in Cavite, President Marcos again omitted her name in his remarks on stage, this time during a sortie in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
At the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas rally in East Bloc Nuvali on Saturday night, the President again put in a good word for the lineup.
But there was no mention of his reelectionist sister who, like in the last two provincial programs, was again absent.
Toward the end of his speech, Mr. Marcos referred to the Alyansa slate as being composed of “11 candidates”—not 12.
“Let us unite in our alliance. We should not be just an alliance of these 10, 11 candidates who are running for senator under the Alyansa slate. Join us in our alliance and let us work together in improving the lives of every Filipino,” Mr. Marcos said.
3 no-shows in a row
In earlier rallies, even candidates who were absent on stage were mentioned by the President in his speech.
Senator Marcos skipped Alyansa’s March 14 rally in Tacloban City, hometown of their mother, Imelda, and the one held in Trece Martires City, Cavite, on Friday.
Her being a no-show in Laguna on Saturday night was the third in a row.
Known for her friendship with Vice President Sara Duterte, Imee showed her latest disapproval of the administration’s policies and decisions by leading a Senate inquiry on Thursday on the legality of the March 11 arrest of Sara’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
