Marcos lauds close connection with Qatar

President Marcos on Wednesday vowed to bolster the “very strong connection” between the Philippines and Qatar as Doha hosts the third Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) this month.

He gave the assurance in a meeting with Qatari Ambassador Ahmed Saad Nasser Abdullah Al-Homidi, called on Mr. Marcos in Malacañang.

The Presidential Communications Office said the Chief Executive recalled the visit of Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in April, which the President said signified the “very strong connection” between the two Asian countries.

“We made a very strong connection. I think that will be always good for both our countries,” Mr. Marcos told the Qatari envoy.

In social media posts, the President also expressed regret that he cannot attend the ACD in Doha from Oct. 2 to Oct. 4.
