Marcos lawyer named to PIA
A lawyer who served on President Marcos’ legal team during the 2022 elections has been named as deputy chief of the government’s chief information arm.
Allan Vincent Lorenzo was appointed deputy director general of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), an attached agency of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
Prior to his appointment, Lorenzo is a senior partner of the Espino Valencia Pe Lim Nery Law Office.
Lorenzo’s appointment was one of several appointments announced by the PCO on its Facebook page.
Lawyer Joseph Omar Castillo was also appointed as a member of the Taiwan-based Manila Economic and Cultural Office’s board of directors.
Castillo is the chief executive officer of Fort Pilar Energy Inc. He previously served as chair of AirAsia Philippines Inc. and vice president for business operations of PNOC Exploration Corp.
Castillo also worked as a partner at the Puyat Jacinto & Santos Law Office.
Mr. Marcos also reappointed electrical engineer and University of the Philippines professor Joel Joseph Marciano Jr. as ad interim director general of the Philippine Space Agency, an agency under the Office of the President that is in charge of developing the country’s national space program.
