Marcos leads cash gifts payout for elderly

President Marcos has vowed to implement more programs for the benefit of the country’s aging population—starting with the inaugural distribution of cash gifts to Filipino senior citizens under Republic Act No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarians Act.

In a program at Malacañang on Wednesday, he distributed cash gifts of P10,000 each to 11 Filipinos age 80, 85, 90 and 95 years old, and P100,000 each to three women who reached 100 years old.

In his speech, the President said the program was the start of more and better benefits for Filipino senior citizens, who helped build the nation in their prime.
