President Marcos marked the start of the holy month of Ramadan on Friday by calling on Filipino Muslims to reflect on their purpose for living, be kind to those in need, and uplift others as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.
Mr. Marcos said the holy month is a sacred season and a period for “personal reflection, spiritual growth and a renewed commitment to faith.”
The President said Ramadan is also a “holy celebration that serves as a powerful and profound catalyst for social transformation” given its emphasis on discipline and gratitude.
The start of Ramadan is announced when the new moon is visible to the naked eye.
This year’s Ramadan will be observed from Feb. 28 to March 29.
