Marcos meets with Japanese project partners

On the second day of his working visit to Japan, President Marcos on Friday met with Japanese executives on the proposed waste-to-energy project in Manila’s Smokey Mountain dump site and a shipyard expansion project in Cebu.
The President announced the energy conversion project that will be undertaken by Japan’s Kanadevia Corporation with the Philippine Ecology Systems Corp.
Mr. Marcos also met with executives of Japanese shipbuilder Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. over its shipyard expansion project in Balamban, Cebu, which is entering its fifth phase. He also spoke with Japanese tourism executives to promote the country’s tourism product with Tourism Sec. Cristina Frasco.
The President left for Osaka, Japan, on Thursday afternoon to attend the World Expo 2025. He is expected to return over the weekend.
