SINGAPORE—President Marcos Jr. is in no rush to endorse a blanket social media ban for minors after the Senate adopted a bill restricting children’s access to high-risk digital services.
Mr. Marcos said his administration was examining measures adopted by other countries but said that preventing violence among youths would require a broader approach.
“The blanket ban, that’s also something that still we’re studying really hard,’’ he told reporters on Sunday.
While the Senate has approved on final reading a social media ban for under-18 youngsters, the House has yet to pass a similar measure.
