Modern neuro lab opens in Pangasinan town
DAGUPAN CITY—The Julius K. Quiambao Medical and Wellness Center (JKQMWC), Pangasinan’s newest and most modern hospital, opened its EEG (electroencephalogram) and Sleep Laboratory on May 22, offering services vital in diagnosing and managing neurological conditions that occur during sleep.
The conditions include epilepsy, seizure disorders, sleep apnea, insomnia and narcolepsy.
The new facility is equipped with modern EEG machines and comprehensive sleep study systems capable of conducting routine EEGs, long-term monitoring and full polysomnography, commonly known as sleep studies.
JKQMWC medical director Dave Gamboa said the opening of the EEG and Sleep Laboratory underscores the hospital’s commitment to bridging gaps in specialized health care.
“For the longest time, our patients had to travel far to access these diagnostic services. Today, we change that narrative. This laboratory is proof of our dedication to providing quality, accessible and reliable health care right here in Bayambang,” he said.
The JKQMWC, a six-story, 100-bed-capacity general hospital in Bayambang, Pangasinan, offers a wide range of medical and wellness services—from primary health care to specialist treatment.
Awardee
It features a well-equipped emergency and acute care department, modern operating rooms, intensive care units and specialized centers for eye care, women’s health, mental wellness and other medical specialties.
It was recently named among the Healthcare Asia Awardees for 2026 by Healthcare Asia Magazine, an accolade recognizing its position as a world-class and trend-setting hospital not only in the Philippines but across the Asian region.
The launching ceremony was attended by key officials of the medical center, led by hospital administrator Arnel Glorioso, Gamboa and chief of clinics Nicolas Miguel.
