LAND OF HEROES
President Marcos on Monday pays tribute to the country’s heroes at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, as he leads the commemoration of National Heroes Day before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Not far from that site, a descendant (above) of a deceased World War II veteran plants a paper flag at his grave. In accordance with that holiday, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has adopted the theme “Kabayanihan ng Pilipino sa Panahon ng Pagbabago” (The Heroism of the Filipino in a Time of Change). The agency also paid tribute to patriots from a not too distant era.
