Community Christmas spirit

Malacañang Palace is transformed into a fair on Saturday as President Marcos leads Family Day celebrations there, with employees setting up various booths offering food, medical consultations and other services. The annual event started by then President Fidel Ramos in 1992 has been held in recent years during Christmas, in keeping with the community spirit and festivity of the season.

Also on Saturday, residents of Teachers Village in Quezon City flock to Maginhawa Street as this neighborhood holds an arts and food festival, with booths also set up, offering tattoo and portraiture services as well as food and drinks.

Senior citizens have their weight and height information taken by personnel of Pasig City’s health department, during a free medical consultation at Maybunga Rainforest Park on Saturday. According to the department, medical records of those who availed themselves of the free examination were also updated for future reference.

Jobseekers take part in a job fair at Manila Science High School organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole), as the agency celebrated its 90th anniversary on Friday. The Dole said as many as 28,000 jobs, mostly manual or clerical work, were offered by more than 300 employers.
