News in Pictures: March 6, 2024 by Philippine Daily Inquirer March 6, 2024 NOT BLACKPINK BUT BLACK EAGLES South Korea’s T-50B supersonic trainer jets perform a half hour of aerial stunts on Sunday during the first of three air shows by the Black Eagles, the popular name of the 53rd Air Demonstration Group of the Republic of Korea Air Force. The event held at Clark Air Base in Pampanga drew cheers from defense and military officials, Korean Embassy officials and defense exhibitors who made up the audience, as the jets made the skies their canvas, drawing a giant heart and other figures with their smoke trails. Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa met with the Black Eagles (below) after their performance to congratulate them. The two more air shows held on Monday and Tuesday were open to the public. -LYN RILLON Colorful native outriggers race from the shoreline of Arevalo district Bay in Iloilo City during the start of the 51st Paraw Regatta Festival, March 3, 2024, the longest and biggest sailing competition in Southeast Asia. The race will cover a 30-kilometer course from Villa Beach in the Arevalo district to Guimaras Island and then back to Villa Beach.
